Prompt: #64 – Seasons
Word Count: 250
Summer breezes were just beginning with its warm air twisting around and that’s where it began.
Hermione had been on her weekly jog around the lake—a wonderful habit picked up in order to forget—when her mind was focused on trying to blank out more than on the path in front.
Draco had promised to take Blaise’s son to watch Quidditch matches and wasn’t watching where they were walking either.
Simple words were exchanged and as much as Draco wanted to ask her for a cup of coffee or tea to just talk, his nerves failed him for the first time in his life.
She continued on her jog and he went to watch the flying brooms.
The warm breezes of the summer calmed down as the air began to turn cool and the leaves of trees were turning shades: brown, red, gold, and yellow.
Hermione was out jogging on an old country road. Her mind had been blank and her breathing jagged and when a tiny town ahead offered a break, she took it.
She was drinking her water when Draco appeared in front of her table. He asked why she jogged so much and when she answered, his nerves finally shoved aside, asking if she wanted something to remember.
Winter came and she taught him how to ice skate and when spring came, Draco taught her to forget her fears and mount a broom.
Fate gave them all the seasons after.
